Morning/Noon Newscast Anchor

WTAP-TV, the NBC affiliate in Parkersburg, WV / Marietta, Ohio, is seeking a co-anchor for our 90 minute morning show. This person also will produce and anchor morning cut-ins and our noon newscast. This position is open NOW.

WTAP has a fantastic-looking studio set, a brand new production and control room, non-linear newsroom editing facilities, tapeless cameras and playout capabilities, a news bureau across the Ohio River in Marietta and a microwave truck. We also have two other affiliates, ``FOX Parkersburg`` and ``My5.`` WTAP-TV is one of more than 30 stations owned by Gray Television, Inc.

We`re looking for a self-motivated, enterprising journalist who`s able to work well with others in a small team environment. You will work hard, but you also will learn a lot. A willingness and ability to fill in on other shifts, including anchoring, is necessary. Finalists for the job must be able to demonstrate good writing and spelling skills. A college degree in telecommunications/broadcast journalism and an excellent driving record (which will be verified) are required. A familiarity with Avid iNews and posting content to websites is highly desired. An ability to consistently meet deadlines and generate original story ideas is essential. Recent college graduates may apply, as long as they meet ALL of the above criteria.
