MATERIALS MANAGER

Our client is in search of an experienced Materials Manager.  Responsibilities include the transformation to Lean Methodologies, which includes developing systems & techniques to improve scheduling, inventory reduction, and product delivery.  This position is also responsible for achieving cost reduction objectives as well as utilizing offshore sourcing, when appropriate.  This person will also coach/mentor within the chain organization and will oversee the functions of planning, procurement, and inventory management.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelors Degree in related area . . . some experience may be substituted for education.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

*  Minimum of 5 years materials management experience in a manufacturing environment.

*  Strong background in developing superior material & planning systems that reduce inventory
   and increase throughput.

*   Familiarity with Lean business tools, concepts, practices and required procedures.

*  Prior experience with offshore sourcing is preferred.

*  Must have strong influencing skills with a demonstrated ability to work across functions.

*  Strong background with ERP/MRP systems.

*  Excellent verbal & written communication skills.

*  Strong problem-solving skills are required.

*  Must be proficient with Microsoft applications.
