TRANSPORTATION DISPATCHER

Location: Parkersburg, WV

Our client is in search of an experienced Transportation Dispatcher . . . with a minimum of 3-5 years' experience in warehouse and freight operations. Must be able to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment. All applicants must have a working knowledge of all FMCSA and DOT Regulations. Must be computer literate with Word and Excel in order to maintain accurate records of all vehicle movement.

Job duties include, but not limited to:

* Record and allocate all requests for delivery & pickup within established
    territories among available drivers.

* Consolidate freight orders into truckloads for specific destinations.

* Select vehicle route for efficient movement.

* Prepare pick up & delivery schedules and accurately record all
    information for proper billing.

* Prepare assignments of drivers & trucks and pick up & delivery
    schedules then accurately record all information for proper billing.

* Call in extra drivers, when needed, to handle unexpected volume.

* Maintain radio and telephone contact with trucks.

* Receive and dispatch aid in reponse to any emergency needs for
    assistance/repairs.

* Maintain vehicle inventory with accurate records of trailers being used
    for off-site storage to ensure accurate billing.

* Supervise maintenance/repair schedule for all vehicles.

* Conduct Safety and DOT Regulations training.
